The Quest for the Wheel of Time: Part I

When I recently finished A Dance with Dragons, the latest in George R.R. Martin’s fantastic A Song of Ice and Fire series, I was left with a huge void in my life. I read all five books in a row in a matter of weeks. It was like binge watching TV episodes on Netflix.

I always admired Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time series from afar. I knew nothing about it, but it always seemed like the sprawling, epic fantasy series I could love. With the fourteenth and last book coming out earlier this year and a Fire and Ice sized hole in my life, I decided it was as good a time as any to dive into the series.

There are fourteen books. Fourteen. That’s ridiculous. I could hop on Amazon and buy any number of collections or box sets with the books, but that’s no fun. Besides, I have a number of books I still need to read so I am in no rush to collect all fourteen.

Instead, since I travel a lot, I plan on stopping at any flea markets, Goodwill’s, Salvation Army’s, and book shops I come across in my travels and rescuing all of the books in the series. It’ll be impossible to collect them in order so I will just take them as they come.

The first entry in my collection is book two The Great Hunt. I found this at a small thrift shop at the Lehighton Farmer’s Market. It’s in great condition and it only cost me a dollar. The Wheel of Time Book 2 The Great Hunt
