I’ve already painted one of the monsters in this set of four. Here are the other three. They’re little rubber erasers. For whatever reason, I’ve really enjoyed painting them. I just primed them and painted them with acrylic paints. The paint job isn’t as smooth or neat looking as it could be but I suppose I’ll get better in time. I have three pictures below showing the different steps.
Now I need to find new ugly creatures to paint!
Writing is a great hobby but when I’m writing I’m stressing about what I’m writing and whether or not it’s any good. When I’m not writing, I’m stressing about not writing.
I’ve filled those periods of non-writing with a number of things – reading, playing sports, pretending to play the piano, and… drinking. My latest fun thing to do is painting little monsters.
Despite my lack of understanding of colors and my poor paintbrush control, I find painting these ugly monsters oddly relaxing. I can put on some music or an episode of some TV show and go to town on these hideous bastards.
Here’s the latest one I’ve worked on which I got from here. There are three others in the set which I hope to paint soon.
The last few weeks have proved eventful in coming closer to completing my quest to find all of the Wheel of Time books.

My latest addition is book number eight The Path of Daggers. I found it at a small used bookshop in the tourist town of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.
Jim Thorpe is a small, scenic town located at the foot of the Poconos in northeastern Pennsylvania. It’s named after one of the greatest athletes of all time who happens to be buried there.
The town is pretty incredible. There’s a mansion from the 1800s you can tour, an old jail with a crazy urban legend, train rides, whitewater rafting, one of the best paintball fields in the country, one of the best hiking trails ever, and plenty of really cool shops. It’s the perfect place for a used bookstore.
